Bugava

Bugava is an indigenous grape variety from the island of Vis, relatively unknown outside the region. From the first sip, this wine impresses with its depth and character, leaving a lasting impression on all who taste it. Finding another wine to pair with Bugava is a challenge. As wine enthusiasts, we often sear ch for comparisons, but such efforts are ultimately futile. Bugava offers a unique tasting experience that stands apart from any other wine, earning its reputation as the queen of wines. At our winery, we produce two distinct types of Bugava: Kula and Zoborje. Despite being made from the same grape variety, these wines are differentiated by their harvesting locations, where variations in soil, sunlight exposure, and altitude lead to distinct flavor profiles. This diversity highlights the unique characteristics of each wine and unders cores why we chose to emphasize their differences. The future of Bugava is promising, and it is our responsibility as winemakers to give this remarkable variety the attention it deserves.
